Safe drinking water MORE THAN 160 THOUSAND PEOPLE TO HAVE WATER AND


Minister of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, Francis Allison, said the main objective of the "Water for All" is that in July 2011, four million Peruvians have water and sewage in their homes.

This was announced during the opening ceremony of the project "Expansion and Improvement of Water System and Sewerage Scheme Carabayllo Integral" attended accompanying the president, Alan García Pérez.

"Today we are showing that without water there is no democracy. With the opening of this work will be 161 thousand Peruvians water basic right linked to social justice, dignity and progress that all citizens deserve, "said Francis Allison.

The work of the "Water for All" represents the installation 8 000 183 water connections and drain 7 000 925 in profit to 160 thousand 888 inhabitants of 32 settlements. The amount of investment of the project amounts to 72 million soles.

The work was done in three areas: 4th area Progreso Punchauca and Torreblanca and includes the construction of six water reservoirs of different sizes (from 100 m3 up to 1500), and other tasks.

Also installing 159 km of collectors Torreblanca
system includes improvements in the existing reservoirs.

Notably, in the district of Carabayllo, the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation to date invested over 125 million soles benefiting 170 thousand inhabitants of the area in the different programs: PIMBP; COFOPRI, among others.
